Between GOAL 2008 and the November 4-6 China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2008 in Qingdao, consider an overnight or day tour to nearby aquaculture production and processing/reprocessing facilities. Additional information will be posted soon.

Qingdao is a picturesque coastal city that faces the Yellow Sea on the southern tip of Shandong Peninsula. Known as a holiday resort in China, the city is also the hub of China's seafood-reprocessing industry. This year, Qingdao geared up for sports as host for the sailing regattas of the 2008 Olympic Games.

During your visit to Qingdao, visit the landmark Zhanqiao Pier, scenic Little Qingdao Isle or the art-lined paths of Lu Xun Park, which was named after the father of Chinese literature. The revamped downtown business district features museums, landmark buildings and beaches.

For nature buffs, the surrounding Laoshan Mountains offer winding hiking trails that pass ancient temples and historic spots that include Mount Taishan, the birthplace of Taoism. Jufeng Peak is well known for its brilliant sunsets.
