GAA Founding Members
Through monetary and other contributions in 1997, GAA’s Founding Members established the base upon which the Global Aquaculture Alliance has grown to become the leading international aquaculture association. The Founding Members, stakeholders from 12 countries, shared the vision that aquaculture is vital to feed the world, but it must grow in a coordinated and responsible way.
Governing Members
As GAA’s most prestigious members, these businesses and groups participate in the leadership of GAA. Their representatives can serve as GAA officers or on the board of directors, and vote on relevant issues. Governing membership dues are based on annual seafood sales, with larger, more profitable companies donating proportionately higher dues.

Individual Members
The Individual Membership level is geared toward small businesses, researchers, writers, academics and interested consumers. Individual Membership in GAA is a statement about commitment to sustainability, for GAA supports the continued development of social, economic and environmental responsibility in aquaculture around the world.
